I’m the owner of KO Candle Co. My candle story began towards the end of 2020. I was hiking up the side of a mountain in Asheville, North Carolina, and the smell of pine and fresh mountain air made me think of how important the little things in life are. Being outside in nature, spending time with loved ones and reminding ourselves to stop and take it all in once in a while. I came home from that trip and started making candles for friends and family in my kitchen as a hobby.
My love language has always been gift giving and making things for others, and this allowed me to do that. I felt as though there were too many dangerous candles on the market made with harmful ingredients. Learning the importance of having quality non-toxic ingredients in a candle, while making them smell just as fragrant as the big brands was fascinating to me, and I was instantly drawn to the whole process. Now, just a few years later it is my greatest joy to be able to share my candles with you.
Why candles you may ask? Besides being a total candle junkie, I feel our sense of smell is one of our greatest senses. It can take you back to a happy memory, set the mood, enrich the world around you, and even keep you from burning your morning toast.
KO Candle Co. is centered around creating uniquely crafted scents inspired by our surroundings in everyday life. Each scent has a special place in my heart and every candle is carefully thought-out, hand-poured in small batches with my own hands, and made with a whole lot of love in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are sustainable, paraben and phthalate free, pet-friendly and made with only the best non-toxic ingredients. They even crackle as well!
I am so incredibly grateful for all my customers and supporters who have helped me get this business to where it is today. My goal is to provide products and scents anyone can enjoy. I am still a one-woman show (with help from my wonderful parents when I really need it). I have poured my heart and soul into this company and will continue to do so, even when things get really busy.
